Raphaël Pathé, a native of France, was introduced to the world of painting and pastels at an early age by his mother, the accomplished artist Martine Séchoy Wolff. Under her guidance, he learned various techniques, exploring museums and exhibitions together. Martine Séchoy Wolff was a pioneering figure, having exhibited her artwork at the original Art Basel in Switzerland since 1979, contributing to the evolution of the art fair. Raphaël Pathé accompanied her in this rich artistic environment, greatly influenced by his stays in Switzerland during his formative years.

Switzerland left an indelible mark on Pathé, particularly the prevalence of the color red in Swiss-made items, the immaculate cleanliness, and the precise use of color. His mother's inspiration from African and Egyptian ancient writings, as well as her affinity for gold and abstract art, further shaped his artistic sensibilities. Although Pathé did not receive formal training at an art school, his lifelong dedication to drawing reflects a raw and unfiltered expression.
